"Hi Good Looking!"

Rory finally found someone as adorable as herself!...
... and she promptly gave her doppelganger the greeting that she deserved.

"Mo-gain" at the Fair

Last weekend, Rory took her parents to the Alexandria Waterfront Festival, where she rode lots of fun fair rides.
Rory has coined a word of her own that combines "more" with "again" and sounds like "mo-gain".
She uses this favorite word of hers whenever she wants something fun to be repeated ...
... such as riding the fair rides over and over. "Mommy, Mo-gain train", for example.
Here, Rory gets behind the wheel with her Daddy, an event that will not repeat itself for another 20 years or so.
"Mommy, mo-gain car. My car!"
All day, Rory had eyed the tall slide towards the back of the festival. Finally, she mustered the courage to climb the stairs with her Daddy.
At the top of tall slide, Rory took her position on her Daddy's lap and prepared for the fast descent.
For the first half of the ride, Rory squealed with delight. But the second bump must have been a little scary for her.
When she got to the bottom of the slide, she was chanting, "No slide, Daddy. Bad slide!"
Later, Rory found the most fun ride of them all ... her Mommy!"

Alfresco Dining

Rory is a bit of a picky eater, but that fickleness seems to disappear when we dine alfresco. Okay, maybe it also has something to do with the food itself.
In the previous picture, Rory was tasting cake. In this pic, she's munching on freshly fried potato chips (thanks Uncle Allen!).
And, yes, Rory still enjoys almost all of her food with a little "dippy dippy" (ketchup).

Summer Scenes

Rory and her friend Dahlia try the "big people chairs" on for size.
Cuteness.
Rory has found many uses for our frisbee ... except for throwing it like a frisbee.

"Happy Father's Day"

Rory and Sarah gave me a wonderful Father's Day ... my tea and newspaper were waiting for me when I awakened, I got to pick our lunch location after church, and we spent the afternoon at a wonderful waterfront fair. But best of all was this video that Sarah took of Rory, who was practicing her Father's Day greeting early in the morning. It melts my heart.

Fun with Friends

Rory had her crew over to the house. In this pic, Dahlia tickles Rory. In this video, they all have fun with the tunnel.

Tall & Wide

During a recent excursion to the Torpedo Factory, an Alexandria institution and artist community, Rory got to contemplate things much taller than herself, as well as ...
... things much wider than herself, including this remnant of the Torpedo Factory's distant past.

Nonna & Pops

Rory enjoyed a brief visit from her Nonna and Pops last weekend. Nonna showed Rory the finer points of column design...
... while Pops braved the Washington heat and humidity (heat index: 110) to play soccer with Rory outside.

Weekend with Sydney

Rory's Aunt Sydney was in town last weekend. Pictured here, Pippin and Sydney relaxed together. They'd needed it, because ...
... Rory put her aunt to work! Sydney swung Rory high on the swing.
And Sydney kept Rory well fed and laughing hard.

Rory Catherine, Fashion Model

In this fashion shoot, Rory models the "preppy look", with her designer pink shades, her J Crew outfit, and her hands tucked casually into her pockets. As expected, her father expresses disapproval at the thought of Rory going into the fashion industry.
Fortunately for Daddy, Rory may not be quite ready to be a runway model. This picture may come in handy, however, when she applies to the Institute for Construction Management ... hard hat, check ... construction blocks ... check.

Daddy & Daughter Weekend

While Mommy was in NYC this weekend with friends Belinda, Michelle, and Simeen (her college roommates and bridesmaids), Daddy and Rory had the weekend together all to themselves. Admittedly, this meant that Rory and Daddy didn't maintain the healthy lifestyles that they typically enjoy when Mommy is cooking for them (okay, Rory ate nothing but white bread all weekend ... mainly off Daddy's plate at some chain restaurant). Yet, they had loads of fun. On the train. In the rain. At the pet store. During music class. Even at church!

Deck Runners

We look so innocent! In reality, we are the nefarious DECK RUNNERS of ALEXANDRIA, and we terrorize backyard decks wherever we go. Click here for the video proof.
