Easter 2012: Hunting Eggs

Look at these little ladies in their Easter dresses!

My little Easter bunny.

Rory and Aven were quite excited by ALL THE EGGS hidden in our backyard on Easter morning.

And Aven couldn't quite wait to break open those eggs to discover what was inside.

But where is Rory's Easter basket?

With a little help from her uncle, Rory retrieves her Easter basket!

Rory and Aven show off their haul from Easter morning. Thank you Easter Bunny!

The family gathers inside for Easter brunch, with both Rory and Aven toasting with their hard-boiled eggs.

Easter 2012: Decorating Eggs

Rory and Aven took a break from their outdoor revelry to decorate a few eggs for Easter.

Rory was quite patient with her eggs, ensuring that each one was appropriate adorned ...

... so that SHE COULD EAT THE EGG WHOLE. Gross!

Oh no, Aven and Grandma got into the trickery!

Hanging out in the backyard.

Aven so enjoyed decorating the Easter eggs that she insisted on decorating Uncle Michael's finger nails!

Soccer Season

This Spring, Rory has joined the Alexandria Soccer Association's spring league, playing on the same team as her friends Megan and Renni.

Rory is quite the soccer superstar. In her first game (overcast skies, drizzling rain), she scored many times (they don't keep score and stats till the kids get older).

Here, Rory chases the ball to score yet another goal.

And while Rory enjoys life on the field, Aven enjoys life on the sidelines, dancing in the rain, taking Daddy on "hunts" around the park.

And, Aven takes the occasion break for a snack, often in quite and out-of-the-way location in the soccer park.

Aven and Spring

Allow me to make a few observations about my daughter for posterity's sake. First, she enjoys her "big kid" bed, but she hasn't quite given up on the more snug feel that a crib offered her at night. Second, "Tiger" is her constant night-time companion. Third, that red-and-blue device in the upper-right-hand corner of the picture is Aven's "kindle" ... because it lights up like Mommy's kindle.

Meanwhile, the Spring season has truly arrived in our backyard. The flowers and trees have started to bloom ...

... as have the tulips that Rory and Aven planted a few months ago!
