Recently, we attended Ian's (Nasa-themed) birthday party. Ian is one of Rory's oldest friends. During circle time, Aven insisted that she be allowed to sit next to her big sister.

But first, Rory insisted that Aven submit to a little hazing: "Aven, you have to let Julia touch your nose for, like, 6 whole minutes!" Aven submitted to the test.

For her feats, Aven was allowed to eat with the big kids, at the big table, with the big-kid food.
